Description
This is another early attempt at ring making. I hammered it in the wrong place and never quite got round to fixing it. By way of continuation, I’ve hammered it some more and added these small bits of what are called ‘casting grain’* The ring is matte finished and the ‘bobbles’ have been oxidised then brushed back to give them some definition. I think it’s turned out quite well.
* Casting grain are small bits of silver which, when heated to the right temperature, can be melted and used to make cast pieces of silver eg most silver charms you see these days are made from melted casting grain. I love the organic forms of each piece and enjoy using the grain as it is to create different, unique pieces.
